Two Trailers You May Be Interested In (Or Rather, Should Be Interested In)

So today I have a couple of links to some new trailers for a couple of new films coming our way in the hopefully not-too-distant future.
The first one is to The Fantastic Mr Fox, the new film from Wes Anderson. It's a stop-motion film based on Roald Dahl's book, which I've never heard of, but it looks pretty cool. I'm eager to see how Wes brings his sensibilities to someone else's work. IMDB credits Noah Baumbach as screenwriter with Wes again, who you remember was also the writer on The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou.
The next trailer is for A Serious Man, the new film from the Coen Bros. Always looking forward to a new Coen Bros. film, though Burn After Reading left me cold. Still, you can't argue with their track record. Incidentally, Video Ezy at Sherwood was selling Blood Simple for $9.95 if you were interested.

that's very fancy, the way you've put text over a picture in your title! and it's very scott, using an image of a woman with guns.

hanging out for mr fox! (and have been ever since the grand disappointment that was the darjeeling ltd). though those pictures don't inspire a lot of confidence in me. will watch the trailers as soon as i get home this arvo!

Thanks for noticing Brad, I was hoping some one would comment. I've put the film it's from in my shopping basket, and just waiting for some more bargains to come along before I place the order.
Was Darjeeling a grand disappointment? I certainly agree that it's his least film, but also think that a full appreciation develops over time. I haven't seen it since the movies, so don't want to pass full judgement yet.
I think this Fox film is going to be quite good, though I'm not yet fully convinced either. Though I do love the badgers line about being a demolition expert.

i think the main trouble with darjeeling was that it revealed that he really only has a handful of characters, and that he keeps on making films with them (albeit with slightly different names), even with the same actors.

(which now, i find, discolours his other films for me)

i think if he really wants to make another good movie, he's going to have to enlist some new actors. he write a particular way, bill murray; owen wilson et al act a certain way. he needs some new actors to bring something fresh.

which is why i'm lookinf forward to fox. even though it's the same old voices, maybe the animation will bring something different...

Fantastic mr fox looks incredible for a few reasons:
-It looks goofy....
-Its not cgi and it got heaps of tacky character
-Even the special effects look crap... and therefore good. Like at the start of the film when he dives into the water... and splash... BRILLIANT!
-not over the top

Anyway... My favorite Wez film is:

anyway... I liked darjeeling the best out of wez films but still not that much.

Burn after reading is awesome

I think the animation looks a little awkward.
Well not so much the animation, but the actual puppets themselves look a little awkward. But they look real, and that's one of the things I liked about "Coraline", you definitely know something is there.
Also, because this is an adaptation, I'm not expecting the same kind of script as his other films. This seems more traditionally funny, if I can make that distinction. There were a couple of lines in the trailer that made me smile, the demolition expert one I already mentioned, and the mole at the end, "I just hope it doesn't thunder, because I have a phobia against that." It just has a lighter feel, not so much family dysfunction, which makes me hopeful.

Poor naive Clayton, burn after reading really did suck.
